"Marketing Companies"

“Marketing Company”
Many contractors are what we like to call a “Marketing Company”.
This style of contractor usually consists of a few salesmen and maybe a receptionist.
In our experience, these types of companies don’t have any workers or managers “in-house” that actually can do the type of work that they are selling.

What they do have however, are salesmen who are VERY good at SELLING you a high dollar contract.
After you’ve signed the contract, this type of contractor has to strictly rely on subcontractors to handle the job for them from start to finish, including any problems that may occur from the salesman not fully understanding the installation process.
If the subcontractor they hired to do the work on your home does a bad job or creates warranty service issues, they have to try and count on that sub to fix the problems, or try to find a different subcontractor to come in and make things right for you.

 Big Box Retailers
Many of the Big Box Retailers offer installation services these days.
We have found that they operate in a very similar manner to the above mentioned “marketing companies”, but on a much bigger scale.
The “Big Boxes” hire an army of salesmen to sell the various products that they stock in their stores, and they are able to put substantial dollars behind marketing campaigns to reach the general public.
When it comes to landing those “high dollar contracts” (i.e your hard earned money) the salesman for these big box stores have an advantage over the traditional marketing company, they are able to sell the easily recognizable name of the “Big Box”, which means that the contract they are selling you can go for much higher dollars, for the same exact job.
Once the contract is signed, the “Big Box” then relies on the salesman or a production manager to find subcontractors to perform the work on your home, as well as any follow up service that may arise.

One important difference between “marketing companies” and Bahry & Associates is that our sales representatives and project managers have all been out there on jobs for years, wearing a tool pouch and working with their hands.
This ensures that our Sales Representatives are able to eliminate most potential problems in the planning phase, and our Project Managers are able to address any unforeseen problems during the production phase.
